Is this a good tablet pc?? first time buying a tablet ! help me out plz...?

ok i go 2 university and i want to buy a tablet pc. i want the tablet to be fast ( not crazy fast) so i can run some engineering softwares like Autocad or Solidworks on then... i've found this new HP model but i dont have experience with tablet pc's yet....could you please comment on this link ? any recommendations ?thanks

Yes, the HP tablets are good. The HP in the link is a very good laptop for the price. A great processor, lots of memory and hard drive space, wireless N, good graphics, and plenty of connectivity options. That's one of the better tablet PCs I've seen, especially for the price.

However, you might find it interesting to know that HP has come out with a new model. It's very similar, but with a few changes (and more expensive). For the price, though, the one in the link is unbeatable.

Do I get the Windows 7 Asus Eee Slate?

I'll go to college in the fall and I was looking for tablets to take with me. I found the slate and thought it seemed it would be very useful. I was wondering if there were reasons why remarkable I do not get it. It seems pretty convenient to all, because it is very portable and works as a full PC, but I do not know if this would have major drawbacks. In addition, the dorms, I live in do not have wifi, so most students need Ethernet cables for the Internet. Could I just get a map AirCard USB Tablet with the Internet and in this way? The eeeslate is impressive. He is the only pill that I consider. My work gave me the IPAD to evaluate (we're not going to deploy) I got the cowokrer eeeslate. There is no comparison. eeeslte is like a Harly Davidson, IPAD is a Vespa. We exchanged a few days and we both had the same opinion. Be aware that the screens can easily be broken tablets because they are almost constant presentations. Screen damage is not covered under warranty. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship only. If you live in a dormitory, your roommate, his / her friends might not be respectful of your property. It would be the only drawback. I do think a laptop would be easier for most students of the college. Virtual keyboards are not as true of ko. States are less ergonomic, but within reason. Yes you can use a dongle, but if your school does not broadcast wifi, dongle wifi have is useless. You can pay for a dongle-like WWAN, but that is like 50-75 dollars per month, every month, plus WWAN rice dongle (about 100-200). AND you are much more likely to ruin your motherboard. If you use the computer and someone bumps against him, it will cost you a fortune to repair (about 300) and again, accidental damage is NOT covered by the warranty. Good luck in school!

New hard drive ... and now?

I have a Compaq TC4200, a tablet PC. He had a fatal error on the hard drive so I bought one again is consistent with my model. I have a recovery disk for my tablet ... but I'm at a loss what to do from there. I turned the computer after installing the hard drive and got a disk error. Told me to replace the hard drive and hit any key to continue. How can I get this thing running again?!

If you have a new hard drive, you will need an actual copy of your OS. It means that buying XP Tablet or Vista (ugh), or waiting for Windows 7 to be released. Unfortunately, a recovery disk is only just what the name says - it restores the OS pre-installed to its original state. With a new hard drive, recovery discs are useless.

What is the difference between the AMD Turion RM-70 and the AMD Turion ZM-80 ??

Ive been deciding between these two tablet pcs:

RM70 runs at 2.0GHz, has 1MB (2 x 512kB) L2 cache, verse ZM80 runs at 2.1GHz, and has 2MB (2 x 1MB) L2 cache. Power consumption of the ZM80 is also slightly higher.

Tablet Laptops.. What do you think?

I want to buy a laptop for myself, and the idea of getting a tablet PC is amazing. I love them and I think it would be good for me. But anyway, I dont know which one to get! I *was* looking at one (http://www.amazon.com/Pavilion-TX2510US-12-1-inch-Processor-Premium/dp/B0019HGU0M/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top), do you think that is a good choice. Is there a way I can find that computer or any other like it for cheaper?

I agree, TabletPC's are the way to go.

I will recommend getting a Wacom digitizer screen as opposed to a touch screen as the Wacom screen is much more accurate for writing and drawing. There are some models that come with dual screens (Wacom and touch) that give the best of both worlds.

The TX 2500 series come with touch screens. Different sellers will have different models (2510, 2530, etc) and may have different configurations. You'll have to do some online research to determine which features can be skipped.

Laptop deicision: HP TX2000 tablet PC or HP DV2700T?

I have two laptops coming in and I need help figuring out what to keep.The first is the hp tx2000, a new model tablet PC with a tremendous cool factor. It will have a 12.1" screen and an AMD Turion TL-68 (2.4Ghz processor), 2 GB of ram, wireless N, Bluetooth, and lightscribe. The only problem is that the screen is kind of grainy/blurry from the touchscreen overlay, and there is no way to fit it. From experience owning the tx1000, I know that this thing is going to run hot.. the fan will be running hard most of the time, even when closed - the video card is weak too. The is a chance that the stylus ejector will break too, because it happened on my tx1000 20 minute out of the box. On the other hand, I have an HP dv2700 coming in. Its a traditional laptop with 14.1" screen and a Core 2 Duo 2.1Ghz, and virtually the same specs at the other one but with a nice Geforce 128MB video card and HDMI out. The screen is crisp and it will run cool and quiet, but will lose the coolness factor.

if you ask me, it's stupid to use the fastest Turion TL-68 in a 12" notebook because it produces too much heat for such a small PC, and as you mentioned this thing is running hot and the fan will run full speed all the time.

if the fun factor is important to you, why don't you choose a model with the 2Ghz version TL-60? i think for a tablet PC this is fast enough.

on the other hand it isn't bad either to have a laptop with slightly larger screen and the latest processor (Penryn T8100) and a dedicated graphics card GeForce 8.

it's up to you.
